Product Features:
ADS1220 is a precision 24 bit analog-to-digital converter (ADC) that provides many integrated functions to reduce system costs and measure component counts for small sensor signals. The device achieves two differential or four single ended inputs through a flexible input multiplexer (MUX), low noise, programmable gain amplifier (PGA), two programmable excitation current sources, a voltage reference, an oscillator, a low-voltage side switch, and a precision temperature sensor. This device can convert data at a rate of 2000 samples per second (SPS) in a single cycle of sedimentation. Digital filters provide simultaneous suppression of 50 Hz and 60 Hz for noise industrial applications at 20 SPs. The internal PGA provides high gain up to 128V/V. This PGA makes ADS1220 very suitable for applications that measure small sensor signals, such as resistance temperature detectors (RTDs), thermocouple thermistors, and resistance bridge sensors. This device supports the measurement of pseudo or fully differential signals when using this programmable gate array. Alternatively, the device can be configured to pass through internal PGA while still providing high input impedance and a gain of up to 4VnV, allowing for single ended measurement.
In the working cycle mode, when PGA is disabled, the power consumption is as low as 120pa. ADS1220 is packaged in lead-free VQFN-16 or ATSSOP-16 and specified within the temperature range of -40~+125℃
