Mercury has good conductivity, and the contact resistance between mercury switch electrodes is generally less than 100 m Ω.
The allowable current of mercury switch depends on the material of electrode. The allowable current of tungsten wire electrode is 10a, while that of alloy wire is 1a.
Since the on-off of mercury switch is determined by mercury gravity, it can work reliably for a long time.
The contact point of the electrode is liquid contact without any noise.
As the mercury can flow, as long as the acceleration reaches the set value, the mercury switch can be on or off, so it can be used as a vibration sensitive element.
The device is small in size, various in form and fully sealed.
